Reynella Alpine Horse Riding Safaris into Kosciuszko National Park
Man From Snowy River country
Feel on top of the world - be on top of Australia with the original and most
experienced trail rides in the Kosciuzsko National Park.
Roslyn and John Rudd
have over 40 years experience of mountain safaris plus many more years of local
history
behind them.
John or his staff, all experienced bush men and women,
lead the safaris with the tales of the
mountains they tell entertaining riders on the trail and around the campfire at night.
The safaris cater for a wide range of interests and capabilities.
Those who have done very little or no riding find that they are soon confident on
horseback, largely due to the expertise and encouragement of John and his team.
Experienced riders find that their skills are refined by the end of the week, also under
the leaders' watchful eyes.
All rides explore the breathtaking scenery of the Kosciuzsko National Park. You will be
taken to a stream where trout fishing is at its best - or visit a gold mine where fortunes
have been won and lost.
Treks through the northern part of the Park take you to places such as Cave Creek,
Currango Plain, Tantangara Creek and Mount Tantangara (well known for the wild brumbies that
frequent the area).
A six day trek usually covers a distance of around 160 kilometres (100 miles).
John and Roslyn provide you with virtually everything you need for camping and
riding, including mattresses, tents, hard hats and food. While you would normally bring
your own clothing, wet weather gear, riding boots and sleeping bag, the Rudds can
optionally supply you (at extra cost) with sleeping bags and oilskin coats.
While no prior riding experience is required a reasonable level of fitness is highly
desirable.
At the end of the day our four-wheel drive vehicles will meet you with all the gear for
the overnight stay.
Sitting pleasantly fatigued around the campfire you will share laughter and stories of
the day's ride with your co-travellers. A warm hearty three-course meal is cooked for you,
accompanied by freshly-made damper and washed down with mugs of billy tea. Your tasks are
to sit back and do nothing but enjoy the relaxation and sense of physical wellbeing from a
great day's ride in the magnificent Australian high country.
Guests are requested to arrive at Reynella between 5pm and 7pm on the Sunday in time to
prepare for their trip. The safari departs on the Monday morning, returning on the Friday
evening for a five-day trip. Guests enjoy dinner in the relaxing atmosphere of REYNELLA on the first and last
nights.
Checkout is by 10am on the day of departure.
